NEX-5N Review

 

After the clicking noise while shooting video was resolved, the Sony NEX-5N has gained many great reviews. You will get excellent results when taking photos if you go into IA mode or Intelligent Automatic mode.

The camera’s touch screen enables you to choose a small area of a complex picture. This tiny area you have blown up will be noise free, and have amazing colors. Dim indoor scenes are virtually the same, with some noise in the object’s shadow against the background. This is pretty impressive since a lot of DSLRs costing twice as much are unable to do this. A unique feature of this camera is the ability to capture panorama pictures from left to right. An easier way to get this done could be to hold the digital camera vertically, while sweeping either right to left or left to right. After choosing panorama view from the virtual wheel, you may modify the options from the menu system. You have problems finding the options, you can read the easy to use manual to find out.

Having this ability gives you excellent results with panorama shots with almost no effort. If you don’t wish to spend your life in Photoshop, this feature alone will make your purchase of the Sony NEX-5N a really excellent buy. Switching into manual mode through the virtual wheel is one of the greatest features of this camera. With this you can actually modify the shutter speed using the mechanical wheel, and by pushing in the lower portion of the wheel will switch to the f/stop. The ISO, which is viewable close to the f/stop, could be reached by switching to the Menu mode and selecting Brightness/Color and right there is the ISO setting. By the time you get there, the photo you desired is no longer available. It should be available without the need to return into the menu system.

The NEX-5N is loaded with many wonderful features but it can be overwhelming to learn them all. You’ll find the features that works perfect for your workflow and stick with it. For quick access to settings you use, the camera can be programmed to put that into place. The navigation of the touch screen is quite well done making it very easy to switch between the various options. You’ll be able to zoom in electronically, move between images in image review mode or choose an object to focus on.

The camera will be simpler to use with adjustments to firmware, but the Sony NEX-5N a fabulous digital camera. The digital camera can be a lot more intuitive and easier to use with just a few changes here and there.
