A Canon Powershot Review : Love It

I recently got this camera and think it’s amazing but I still need to learn all the functions. The main thing I love about this camera is the fact of an external jack for a microphone. The built in mic’s in camcorders are cheap and I hate them. I own a Heil Studio Mic which I plugged into this camera and the sound was awesome.
The still shots on this camera are awesome too. They are so much clearer than I thought they would be. My old Canon camcorder takes really mediocre still shots. It also has a built in flash for still shots, which caught me by surprise. This cam is so much more superior, although I still use the older Canon from time to time.
This was an upgrade from my old canon camcorder. The difference is vast! This is lightweight, small and fits in the same camera case as my digital camera making it easy to take both with me at the same time. Get this camera, you will not be disappointed.
Small memory cards make for fast, easy, no hassle shooting and downloading. Built in lens cover auto closes when unit is turned off. Image stabilization and multi-facial recognition makes for easy panning and zooming for someone like me with somewhat shaky hands. My wife loves it, especially how it fits her small hands much easier than the old camcorder.
There are a few problems I have with this camera though. The first is that Canon refuses to supply fire wire cables with any of their cameras. This isn’t a big problem for me because I already own a fire wire cable but it can be a con for other people. This whole issue is done to maximise profits in my opinion.
One complaint I have with this camera is, even though I paid more for the camera compared to my older one, I did not get a wide-angle lens or a neck strap to carry it with. I mean for cheaper camera’s to have this but not in a bit more expensive models? Come on, Canon, how much cheaper can you get? Do they expect me to carry it around in the hand strap or spend some more money on a neck strap?
Lastly the camera does not come with a memory card which sucks. The battery life for this camera lasts for 1 hour as well so, make sure you have more then 1 battery if you are going to be filming for a while. I cut my first shooting short because of the battery life.
